Puerto López Recicla was born with the objective of improving garbage management to help protect the biodiversity of our territory and improve the living conditions of our members. Currently, we have a project called "Manos que transforman" (Hands that transform - textile recycling), through which we seek to develop our skills to increase the income of our worker cooperative.
On the Ecuadorian coast, in the extreme south of the Manabí province, in the Las Tunas Ancestral Commune, this environmental initiative helps to protect 250 turtle nests: Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata), Leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea), Green (Chelonia mydas), and Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea). The care is carried out by children and their families, from several schools in the settlements that make up the community.
A women's circle in Puerto López committed to creating a safe, supportive, and gathering space, where we promote the comprehensive development and well-being of women. We work from the recognition and defense of our rights, fostering equal conditions, empowerment, mutual support, and the collective construction of opportunities for all.
